VOAMASS Appoints Chief People Officer and First Vice President of Development
Welcome Tina Handren as Chief People Officer and Becky Carlino as our first Vice President of Development!
“We are thrilled to welcome Tina and Becky as VOAMASS looks to grow and build on its employee-centered culture while developing new funding paths to fuel our mission and serve more neighbors in need,” said VOAMASS President and CEO Charles Gagnon. “Their decades of experience and specialized knowledge of our work positions them exceptionally well for these roles. I look forward to working alongside Tina and Becky to expand our reach as we build opportunities for our clients.”
Handren will partner closely with leaders across the agency to develop and direct a comprehensive people strategy to support VOAMASS’s continued growth. The Chief People Officer leads all human resources functions, including developing and implementing policies and procedures and recruitment and retention strategies, and developing best-in-class compensation and benefits strategies. Handren has nearly two decades of human resources experience, most recently as Human Resources Director at a local human services agency.
Handren holds a bachelor’s degree from Salve Regina University. She volunteers for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Black Lives Matter, and Youth Pride RI.
In her new role, Carlino will develop a comprehensive fundraising program and manage annual giving, major gifts, and grants made to the organization. Carlino held various leadership roles over the past 11 years at another Volunteers of America affiliate organization, where she oversaw philanthropic giving and led two successful capital campaigns.
Carlino also volunteers as the Senior Vice President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5137 Auxiliary. She earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Akron.
