The Plymouth Area Veterans Center is Now Open!
Comprehensive one-stop shop for veteran services now open to serve the South Shore area.
On October 1, 2024, VOAMASS and partners celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the Plymouth Area Veterans Center (PAVC). Made possible through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services, the PAVC will offer a variety of services, including:
- Screening and assessment for health care and health-related social needs
- Assistance with Veterans Affairs (VA) services and other public benefits
- Linkages with housing and employment services, including:
- Housing search, placement, and tenancy support
- Flexible funds for emergencies and housing needs, such as moving costs and household goods
- Job training and job search assistance
- Peer support and peer-led community-building activities, including:
- Veteran-only Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous groups
- Support groups for veterans who are first responders
- Guest speakers and social events such as pizza, movie, and game nights
- Wellness services including smoking cessation groups and partnerships with local gyms
